Patrick Senécal

Patrick Senécal was born in Drummondville in 1967. With a bachelor degree in French studies from University of Montreal, Patrick has taught literature for several years at Cegep of Drummondville. Passionate about all things fantasy, suspense and terror, Patrick published his first horror novel in 1994 “1550 rue des Ormes”, followed by “Le Passager” a year later. In spring 1997, Montreal's “Théâtre de la licorne” mounted Patrick's first play “Les Aventures de l'inspecteur Hector”. His third novel “Sur le seuil”, published in 1998 was critically acclaimed and adapted to the big screen by Eric Tessier. After being released in Quebec in 2003, Miramax Films acquired the American rights to the English adaptation. Patrick Senécal solidified his place as one of Quebec's most beloved authors when his fourth and fifth novels “Aliss” (a cult phenomenon) and “Les Sept jours de talion” were both met with tremendous critical and popular enthusiasm.
